Missouri Career Center Partners

The two main partners of the local Missouri Career Center office is the local office of the Missouri Division of Workforce Development and the Workforce Development Department of the City of Springfield. Our Youth Department is operated by AO/Lakes Country Resource Centers. Here are the web sites for the agencies of those partners.

The following agencies have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Missouri Career Center and many are mandated to partner with us according to the 1998 federal legislation Workforce Investment Act.

Job Corps

Job Corps is a federally-funded residential training program for poverty-level youth between the ages of 16 and 24 and offer GED or high school diploma and skills in 125 different trades.

Mayor’s Commission on Human Rights

The Mayor’s Commission on Human Rights and Community Relations investigates cases of discrimination based on race, religion, age, national origin, sex, disability, and retaliation in the areas of employment and accommodation. They provide training to employers, landlords, schools, and other community organizations in the community to foster mutual understanding and respect among all citizens.

This junior college provides secondary and post-secondary vocational education, general education for transfer, credit, and non-credit courses, adult education and literacy, GED preparation and customized training for employers.

United Migrant Opportunity Services

UMOS assists migrant and seasonal farm workers and their families attain greater economic stability by helping them acquire more education and new job skills in occupations that offer higher wages and benefits and a more stable work environment.

Missouri DESE Division of Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation assists individuals with physical and/or mental impairments to obtain employment. Possible services may include:  assessments, evaluation, guidance, physical restoration services, assistive devices, training costs, job placement & referral.  Each case is reviewed individually by a counselor, who coordinates eligibility determination and case services.
