Job Seeking Questions
Are you aware of the services available to low-income individuals
and families?
The Workforce Development Self-Sufficiency programs provide
employment and training services to food stamp recipients, Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash welfare recipients,
and non-custodial parents, with the goal of gaining the ability
to support themselves and their families without public assistance.
The Missouri Employment and Training Program
(METP) provides job search and job readiness assistance to food stamp
recipients. The Career Assistance Program (CAP) provides a wide range
of services to cash welfare recipients such as subsidized employment,
on-the-job training, and vocational and educational training in
addition to soft skills classes and job search assistance.
Non-custodial parents who continue to pay their child support
obligation under a Temporary Payment Plan may participate in skills
training, vocational education, and job search assistance through the
Parent's Fair Share program. Other low income adults may qualify for
extra help from the Adults Program. Our front desk personnel will be
glad to direct you to these various workforce development
professionals.
