Do you need help finding skilled workers? Missouri's
job posting system showcases an electronic job matching website,
www.GreatHires.org, which helps employers find qualified workers
and job seekers find suitable employment. GreatHires.org offers
no cost access to Missouri's largest hiring pool of applicants,
with an easy streamlined five-step posting process that includes
controls to ensure qualified matches with the skills and experience
specified by each employer. This includes a ranking process of
qualified candidates for more precise matching to business needs.
A customized home page with a consolidated list of all job postings, searches,
and communication is provided. We have associates who can enter your job
orders for you, or teach you how to operate the system from your office.
You will see a link to GreatHires.org on the right of the screen. The “What's
This” link beneath it leads to PowerPoint explanations of how to
use this program for both Job Seekers and Employers.
Each Monday we host a meeting in our Career Center called Job Club where
an employer can give information about their company and their job openings
to Career Center clients looking for work and meet afterwards with them
if time allows. Many employers use this opportunity to explain their hiring
procedures or give job seekers tips to help them better understand the
process from an employer's point of view.
The Missouri Career Center retrains appropriate workers such as those
dislocated by business closures who are then available through the pool
of workers in our GreatHires.org database of job seekers.
The Missouri Career Center also hosts quarterly recruitment events where
upwards of 20 employers set up tables and talk to job seekers about their
openings. We also have a Business Services Center available with computer,
conference table, phones and other equipment to help facilitate interviewing
in our office when the need arises. All of these services are available
at no cost to the employer.
Businesses hiring foreign workers can receive assistance in completing
the required federal applications. The Division of Workforce Development
staff provide initial application processing for the federal Department
of Labor, reviews applications for completeness, offers recruitment assistance,
and provides prevailing wage determinations to employers.
